After The Raft of the Medusa

In Beard’s own words “my concerns are with the nature of perception and representation” In this exhibition Beard focuses upon a canonical work of art. To quote Beard “It is a very large painting familiar to the informed art world. It is important to make it elusive, to sit on the very edge of perception.” By obscuring our gaze we must look harder, even at our own world.
