From Godzilla to Barefoot Gen and Astro Boy, the nuclear has always played an important role in the Japanese creative sphere. Has this changed since the disaster of 2011? Through manga, literature and film, this talk explores how the 2011 disaster manifests in the popular imagination, and gives insight into the latest literary developments in Japan.
